A little About Me

Since I have now posted a few blogs about my products, I'd like to now write a little about myself!
Who am I?- My name is Ann and I am from Scotland!

Why am I here? After coming across Teachers Pay teachers,
I suddenly realised what I had been missing out on. All of the resources that I had been making for my own class could be put to good use by other people?! No way! I quickly signed up to my premium account and haven't looked back since. Teachers Pay Teachers has given me a new
passion and desire in and out of the classroom.  I am so eager to make resources for my kids!
My goal is to keep them engaged in their learning and for them to see it as something fun.
I am eager to produce products for my store to sell but it's more than just a money making thing.
It's knowing that after every buy, a teacher somewhere is using what you made and hopefully enjoying using it too!

I am new with the blogging world. I am quickly/ slowly ( ;-) ) finding my feet with it and hope to connect with you all as I develop my blog. Give me a hi below :-)

A few facts about me! I turned the big 30 this year! I have been married for 9 years.
I have 3 boys.  7 years, 4 years and 9 weeks!
Love is....

I have been teaching for 8 years.
I am currently on maternity leave and will not be going back next week. I'm missing the
anticipation of getting my class all sorted out for the kids coming back. In Scotland,
you get 9 months paid maternity leave and so I am going to enjoy some time off with little J until February/ March time next year. Isn't it always hard to juggle family life
with working life?!

That's a blog post all on it's own!

Looking Back!

Thinking back to the beginning of last session, I created and used this resource as part of a getting to know you activity. The kids enjoyed the passport theme and it was a great way for me to find out more about them in a fun, interactive way. They learned more about each other and it was fun for them to see their teacher join in too! Can you believe that a teacher is actually a real human outside of work! With an actual first name, hobbies and interests! This was a definite hit!

We created a display and the kids proudly showed of their booklets. As part of their craftivity, they drew a picture of themselves inside the lens of the camera and wrote about their goals for the year ahead.

It's always great to look back on previous years and see what's worked and what didn't. I will use this again in the future for sure. It's a versatile craft too as you can really use the camera theme for any of your own topics in the classroom.

Nouns at the Zoo!

It has been a bit of a crazy month! With a new baby just weeks away and trying to finish off work before I leave for some time off, I have been neglecting this blog a little. Sorry! Between painting and decorating the nursery, completing TPT products and looking after 2 kids already, I have not had much time to update! I am hoping that this isn't a sign of times to come and that I will be able to fit everything into a schedule once little bean is here and settled.

I have a new product in my store just now that I hope you will find useful in your classrooms. Nouns at the Zoo was made as a theme for the kiddos to learn different types of Nouns across different areas that you would find in a Zoo. Travel round the zoo with your map and you will find different Nouns to learn about! Including Common, Proper and Possessive Nouns! I really enjoyed creating this one!

Getting To Know You Freebie!!

I have been focussing on adding more punctuation activities to my resources recently. I wanted to get more creative in this area and create some activities that would continue to engage the students whilst we look at periods, exclamation marks and question marks. I have now created the ' Beginner's Punctuation Activities' unit, which is now found in my TPT store. I have included a fair few center based activities as well as plenty practice pages for each of the 3 punctuation ends.

By the end of the unit, the students should have a good knowledge of periods, exclamation marks and question marks!

As part of my "getting to know you," I am giving you all 3 pages of this unit. I hope that this will give you a wee glimpse into what this unit is about. Click here for your FREE 3 page product!

I am so excited to be finally jumping on the blogging wagon! I never thought that I would actually have a blog at all but it is exciting to think that someone, somewhere *may* actually be reading what I have written! I am looking forward to sharing my resources and teaching experiences with you and I hope that we can chat along the way about what we love to do best. Teach!
